YOKES! Hydrangeas Color Work 20g Minis Bundle

  • $39.00

There are so many gorgeous DK weight sweaters with lovely yokes that are screaming for gradient color work; I've put together sets of 5 colors on fingering weight minis that can be held double to create a marled gradient effect that is roughly the weight equivalent to DK when two strands are held together. These bundles are 5 minis of 20g (86 yds) each

Depending on the yoke pattern you choose, you might need more than 1 set to complete an entire yoke of a sweater. I knit a size 4 of the Avena Sweater by Jenn Steingass and had ample yardage and a good deal of a few of the colors left over.

For whatever pattern you choose, I created the marled effect for my Avena Sweater in my photo by holding yarn in this way:

2 strands of color 1 for 6 rows of the yoke chart

1 strand of color 1 & 1 strand of color 2 for 6 rows of the yoke chart

2 strands of color 2 for 6 rows of the yoke chart

1 strand of color 2 & 3 strand of color 2 for 6 rows of the yoke chart

2 strands of color 3 for 6 rows of the yoke chart

1 strand of color 3 & 4 strand of color 2 for 6 rows of the yoke chart

2 strands of color 4 for 6 rows of the yoke chart

1 strand of color 4 & 5 strand of color 2 for 6 rows of the yoke chart

2 strands of color 5 for 5 rows of the yoke chart

This listing is for the color work set of minis only; I have full skeins of DK weight yarn that can be used for the main color of your sweater in separate listings, and the colors I suggest for this set are Naked Bruce Yak Silk, Black, Coal, Naked Robert Tweed DK, Fuzzy Bunny DK (Naked Beatrix Alpaca Silk Cashmere)

* I used Dragonfly Fibers Echiveria color on Bugga DK for my sweater with this color set, and if you wish to add bobbles to your sweater like I show in my sample photo, you will need TWO sets of minis (bobbles eat a LOT of yarn!)
