Bugga SPORT 50yd Minis Set for Sweater Yokes & Color Work; Set #5

There are so many gorgeous Sport and DK weight sweaters with lovely yokes that are screaming for gradient color work; I've put together these sets of 9 colors of SPORT weight minis that can be held single for sport and DK weight sweaters, or held double for worsted weight yokes patterns. These minis are all mottled and multi colored, and arranged in a gradient color progression.

I used these minis for two of the Autumn Alpine Sweaters that I've knit. This pattern is written for sport weight yarn; the modified cardigan version that I knit was sport weight yarn minis (one of these sets) with a sport/DK weight yarn for the main color. I split the yoke chart by the 9 colors in the set and knit that many rows with each of the 9 minis. If you want to NOT have a solid line of color changes, knit the first row of each new color alternating the new color and the old color every other stitch in chart; this is a little fiddly, but totally worth it for the subtle fade it creates!

The other Autumn Alpine Sweater that I knit with these sets was a worsted weight mania color, and these minis held double to create a worsted weight yoke. I knit the smallest size of the pattern, on larger needles, and was able to get the size 3-4 of the pattern, which is what I was going for. I can't guarantee that this mod will work for you, but marling these minis is so pretty! Holding each color with another color, I marled them as follows:

1 strand of color 1 & 1 strand of color 2 for 8 rows of the yoke chart

1 strand of color 2 & 3 strand of color 2 for 8 rows of the yoke chart

1 strand of color 3 & 4 strand of color 2 for 8 rows of the yoke chart

1 strand of color 4 & 5 strand of color 2 for 7 rows of the yoke chart

1 strand of color 5 & 6 strand of color 2 for 7 rows of the yoke chart

1 strand of color 6 & 7 strand of color 2 for 7 rows of the yoke chart

1 strand of color 7 & 8 strand of color 2 for 7 rows of the yoke chart

1 strand of color 8 & 9 strand of color 2 for 7 rows of the yoke chart
